History of the Gafney Home
The Gafney Home is one of the most magnificent and historic Victorian mansions in Rochester with beautiful grounds and amenities. Originally built as a home for Judge Charles Gafney and his wife Ida, the Home was transitioned into a home for the aged in September 1904. Throughout the years, with diligence and careful planning, it has remained one of the most successful assisted living facilities in New Hampshire.
Today, the Home boasts 18 meticulously cared for rooms, each of which are tastefully decorated and appointed with the comforts of home. Our staff is eager to please and provide exceptional care and service to our residents
The Gafney Home Difference
We are a small, not-for-profit assisted living residence providing high quality medical care and individual support services. The Gafney Home coordinates our care with exceptional medical and ancillary services to provide on-site medical care for our residents. We pride ourselves in the personal attention provided to each and every resident. The intimate setting of our home enables us to provide one-on-one support rarely seen at larger facilities. Our distinctive facility, the historic Gafney Mansion, creates a welcoming environment where residents can enjoy the company of one another and be surrounded by all the comforts of home.
The Gafney Home was founded in 1904 and is licensed by the State of New Hampshire and governed by a Board of Directors.
We are dedicated to providing exceptional long-term care in a comfortable, supportive environment – and to caring for each resident with compassion, dignity, and respect.
